Ryttarens torvströfabrik
Ryttaren peat factory

TAM82

Ryttarens torvströfabrik – Ryttaren peat factory (Order # TAM82)
Ryttaren peat factory is today a museum and in this film you can see both the factory and the railway shown on Peat day.

During almost all of the 20’ century they took up peat at Ryttaren peat factory outside Falköping. When other peat factories were torn down Hasselfors invested in Ryttaren. The modernized the factory and put their money in the garden market by producing peat moss in bags. Earlier the peat moss had been sold in big bales. With time the factory became obsolete and Hasselfors closed it 1997. Two years later the works was turned in to a museum operated by a society. Today it is a well maintained environment with the peat factory as the main attraction, engine shed with workshop and a narrow gauge railway. We visit Ryttaren on Peat day, a yearly event when the works are shown to the public and trains go out on the line to the peat fields.

As bonus material there is a film where you can see a trip on the whole useable part of the peat railway, a distance of about 3 km.

The DVD is subtitled in Swedish and English. Swedish narration, cover and menus. Both subtitles and narration can be switched on and off independently.

Region-free DVD-R. Playable in computers and PAL-compatible DVD-players world-wide.
