Godståg till Torsby – Freight train to Torsby (Order # TAM02) Come along on a trip with freight train between Kil and Torsby on a cloudy February day, some years before SJ shut down the freight traffic on the north part of the Fryksdalen line. A varied film with cabride, switching and crossings with railcars. Running time: 50 min.

The Fryksdalen line between Kil and Torsby has for many years been in danger of being closed. In spite of this there is still passenger traffic operated by the regional traffic council Värmlandstrafik. They class Y1 railcars restored in the beginning of the 1990’s.
In this film we focus on the freight traffic between Kil and Torsby 1992, a couple of years before the freight traffic was shut down by SJ on the north part of the Fryksdalen line.
The freight trains for Torsby were scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while the section to Rottneros also was operated Tuesdays and Thursdays. The freight trains were exclusively headed by class T44 locos.
The biggest customer was Rottneros works who shipped almost all their products by the Fryksdalen line. The freight traffic has been reduced while operated by SJ and today only the south part of the Fryksdal line is regularly used by freight trains.
The trip in the film is made with a loco class T44 No. 337, a loco with an unusual blue test livery. About half the footage is taken from the cab. You can also follow switching in Sunne, Torsby and Rottneros plus  crossings with class Y1 railcars from Värmlandstrafik.

The DVD is subtitled in Swedish and English. Swedish narration, cover and menus. Both subtitles and narration can be switched on and off independently.
